With the objective of digitalizing electrical distribution networks, the National Electricity Administration (ANDE) installed a system of 1,400 reclosers throughout the country. This improved the quality of electric power service and increased the system's reliability in Paraguay.
These devices were installed on the medium-voltage lines and integrated into the SCADA system, which will permanently monitor and control service interruptions and reduce recovery time in the event of an emergency or disruption to the electrical distribution system.
The public company, founded in 1949, controls and distributes electricity in Paraguay. It manages multinational hydroelectric plants such as Itaipú, Acaray, and Yacyretá. It is also responsible for managing and controlling the national and international thermoelectric plants in Bahía Negra, Fuerte Olimpo, Pedro J. Caballero, and Salto del Guairá.
ANDE has a distribution network system, transformers, and power stations that provide service throughout the country, along with a complex interconnection and support structure with the neighboring countries of Argentina and Brazil. Each ANDE network's management and control points have been interconnected through NEXCONEC technology, providing a streamlined and modern management service that maintains an operating and connection rate exceeding regional standards.
